FIELD: laser technologies.

SUBSTANCE: method for laser ignition of optical discharge consists in gas breakdown with formation of plasma region, carried out by focusing radiation of supporting and igniting lasers in discharge chamber. It differs from known designs in that radiation of the igniting laser is focused by a lens and passed through a plane-parallel plate so as to get the focus into the region of the ignited optical discharge; the plane-parallel plate is simultaneously inclined to the axis of the igniting beam and rotated around the axis of the igniting beam.

EFFECT: wider range of technical means for igniting optical discharge.
