FIELD: medicine; pharmaceutics.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine and chemical-pharmaceutical industry and concerns an anti-inflammatory composition (versions) and use thereof. Disclosed are the following versions of the anti-inflammatory composition in the form of an aqueous solution for local application in the oral cavity and upper respiratory tract: one of the versions consists of a combination of active agents of a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of chlorhexidine and sodium bicarbonate in a weight ratio of 1:120 to 1:180, as well as water as a carrier, where the sodium bicarbonate content is from 5.66 to 8.25 wt.% of the total weight of the composition; another version of the composition consists of a combination of active agents of a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of chlorhexidine and sodium bicarbonate in a weight ratio of 1:120 to 1:180, sucrose in weight ratio of sucrose and a combination of active agents of a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of chlorhexidine and sodium bicarbonate from 1:1 to 20:1, as well as water as a carrier, where content of sodium bicarbonate ranges from 2.64 to 7.62 wt.% of the total weight of the composition. In addition, disclosed is use of said versions of the composition for reducing and/or eliminating the inflammatory process in the oral cavity and upper respiratory tract caused by a condition selected from acute and chronic diseases of otorhinolaryngological organs of bacterial aetiology, oral diseases of bacterial aetiology, dental diseases, traumatic injuries, burns and infectious-inflammatory lesions of mucous membranes and tissues of the oral cavity and upper respiratory tract.
EFFECT: above combinations of active agents provide synergistic antiseptic and anti-inflammatory action of compositions, as well as reducing the side effects of chlorhexidine, such as yellowing of tooth enamel and taste disturbance, and reducing the length of contact of the oral cavity and upper respiratory tract with chlorhexidine.
