SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to a haemostatic sponge based on one polymer of different viscosity. Disclosed haemostatic sponge is a two-layer spongy product containing sodium salt of carboxymethyl cellulose with average viscosity of 400–600 cP and sodium salt of carboxymethyl cellulose with high viscosity of 1,100–1,900 cP with weight fractions thereof in said article of 0.5 and 0.5.

EFFECT: invention provides shorter bleeding time and reduced blood loss.
