FIELD: aerosol generating systems.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an aerosol generating system and a cartridge for an electrically heated aerosol generating system. The aerosol generating system comprises a housing and an aerosol generating substrate at least partially located in said housing. The housing includes an air inlet located on the first housing portion; an air outlet located on the second part of the housing; an air flow path extending through the housing from the air inlet to the air outlet; a spray chamber in the air flow channel; an aerosol generating element in the spray chamber configured to spray an aerosol-forming substrate to generate an aerosol; and an inlet filter in an air flow passage between the air inlet and the spray chamber. The inlet filter includes a plurality of screens, including a first screen with a first hole size and a second screen with a second hole size. The second hole size is different from the first hole size.

EFFECT: inventions prevent the passage of liquid droplets larger than a predetermined size in the channel for air flow through the exhaust filter.
