SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for differential diagnosis of adrenal tumors in children. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) with contrast in T1VI and T2VI modes is performed. Determining the tumor signal intensity in the axial plane. Malignancy index of the neoplasm is calculated by formula MI=0.074*T2VI+0.09*T2VIfc+0.192*T1VIpost, where T2VI is the value of tumor signal intensity in T2VI mode, T2VIfc is the value of tumor signal intensity in T2VI mode with fat suppression, T1VIpost is the value of tumor signal intensity in T1VI mode in the postvenous phase. If the MI is more than 0.5, the malignant nature of the growth is predicted; if the MI is less than 0.5, the presence of malignant growth is unlikely.

EFFECT: method provides determining the nature of adrenal tumors in children by evaluating the MRI signs of the neoplasms according to magnetic susceptibility-weighted images.
