FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine. A method for correcting keeled chest deformity, preventing compensatory kyphosis of the thoracic spine and correcting costal arch deformity is implemented by using an orthosis containing a chest plate, a back plate connected with the possibility of changing the relative position, two shoulder straps, a chest compression pad, a vertebral corrective plate with two frames, a tightening tape connected to the corrective plate, and also use a soft bandage equipped with vertically oriented pockets for rectangular rigid plates. The amount of compressive force sufficient to affect the deformed area of the keeled chest is determined. The chest plate is installed on the chest, laying the compression pad on the area of the keeled chest deformity. The back plate is placed on the back, placing the corrective plate along the spine, above the kyphosis of the thoracic spine. The plates are connected in a closed circuit by lateral adjusting movable plates. Shoulder straps fasten. The brace of the orthosis is installed. A bandage is installed on the tightening tape. Rigid rectangular plates are placed in the pockets. The tape covers the anterior surface of the chest in the region of 8, 9, 10 ribs. Plates in pockets are placed over the area of costal arch deformation, tightening the tape, creating a compressive force on the costal arch. The tape is connected with a lock to the length adjustment mechanism, acting on the spine, giving it a forced anatomically correct position, correcting kyphosis. The tape is pulled, a compressive force is created, the chest and dorsal plates are brought together, compressing the protrusion of the keeled deformity. Tighten the tape, pulling the shoulder girdle posteriorly.
EFFECT: invention provides elimination of keeled chest deformity, prevention of compensatory kyphosis of the thoracic spine and elimination of costal arch deformity.
