FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to a balloon catheter used for such treatment methods as percutaneous transluminal angioplasty and percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty. Balloon catheter comprises catheter body (11) and a balloon formed from a film, which is configured to be inflated and deflated and attached on the side of the distal end of catheter body (11). Linear part is formed on the outer surface of the cylinder and extends linearly in the axial direction of the cylinder. Groove in the form of a recess is formed in the linear part and is opened in the direction crossing the length direction. Projection (35) is formed on the film in a position corresponding to the groove, and protrudes inside the cylinder, wherein thickness of film 29 is increased due to ledge.

EFFECT: invention can inhibit deterioration of ease of use when introduced into the body.
