FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an additive manufacturing method, in particular, to a method of creating 3D model including support structures. Invention also relates to a computer-readable data medium. 3D model includes support structures to be built by an additive manufacturing device, comprising: platform for holding 3D object corresponding to 3D model. Proposed method comprises setting surface geometry and orientation of 3D model relative to platform. Surface geometry includes surface segments. Method further comprises: a step of ascribing a degree of quality to the surface segments, respectively, with respect to post-processing for the subsequent removal of the support structures; a step of calculating, based on a given orientation, surface geometry and an ascribed degree of quality, positions on the surface segments to which the support structure can be added; and a step of adding a support structure to 3D model based on the calculated positions and the assigned degree of quality.

EFFECT: group of inventions provides a method of presenting quality requirements for 3D model, which includes support structures to be built by an additive manufacturing device.
