FIELD: cellulose production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of microcrystalline cellulose. Method of producing microcrystalline cellulose involves breaking up sulphate cellulose of bleached coniferous or hardwood by pouring the required amount of water into a pulper, loading the calculated amount of commercial sheet cellulose, dispersing by mixing until a homogeneous cellulose suspension is obtained, pumping the suspension into a reactor and carrying out a hydrolysis reaction with an acid, drying, grinding into a powder and packing. Before hydrolysis reaction, cellulose is milled in knife machines in fibrillating mode to 15–70 °SR. Fine purification of ground cellulose is carried out. Hydrolysis is carried out at acid concentration of 6–12%, temperature of 70–90 °C and duration of 60–180 minutes. In a twin-screw extruder, the obtained product is dispersed in a raw form, pre-washed with water and thickened.
EFFECT: providing output of microcrystalline cellulose of 70–85% of mass of cellulose, limiting degree of polymerisation — 150–180, degree of crystallinity — 72–80%, as well as reduction of specific consumption of cellulose by 10–15%.
