FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to diagnostics, thoracic surgery. Method includes collecting clinical-anamnestic data, physical examination, instrumental methods of research, determining laboratory values. Derived values are scored according to table 1 of the description. Obtained points are summed up, after which the degree of injury severity is determined depending on the total score. If total scores are related to zones between groups or related to two groups simultaneously, result is referred to more unfavourable.
EFFECT: method enables assessing the severity of the chest injury and predicting the clinical course of the posttraumatic period in the patients.
