SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical biochemistry, pathophysiology and immunology and can be used to increase immunogenic and protective activity of the vaccine strain of the plague microbe Yersinia pestis EV. Disclosed is a method for increasing the immunogenic and protective activity of the vaccine strain of the plague microbe. White laboratory mice immunized with Y. pestis EV in dose of 103 microbial cells, is administered twice on 1st day, simultaneously with the introduction of the vaccine, and on 5th day, the synthetic organoselenium compound 2,6-dipyridinium-9-selenabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane dibromide subcutaneously into thigh at 2 mg/kg of animal weight.

EFFECT: invention allows reducing a dose of the plague live vaccine Yersinia pestis EV NIIEG and compensating for its reactogenicity.
