SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a dispensing unit for a beverage preparation device, which can be used to produce a beverage with a proper consistency using a capsule brewing system in which hot liquid is fed into the capsule under pressure, wherein said capsule is placed on brew plate (210) with ledge (212) arranged to pierce the lid of the pressurised capsule, the free flow of the prepared beverage can gradually pass from cooking plate (210) to outlet nozzle (126). To achieve the best results, open channel (206) from brew plate (210) through manifold chamber (204) downstream of the brew plate to outlet nozzle (126) may include an open and inclined recess (222) for draining the beverage from manifold chamber (204). As a result of using the open channel, the beverage jets from the cooking plate may be sprayed and contaminated with the device. This can be prevented by installing proper overlap (250) between the cooking plate and the recess or its open part.

EFFECT: disclosed is a dispensing unit for a beverage preparation device.
