SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fiber lasers and particularly to implementation of passive mode locking based on nonlinear rotation of the polarization plane in a fiber laser. Differential frequency generation source based on non-stationary solitons in a fiber laser with passive mode locking includes a fiber ring resonator as part of an active erbium-ytterbium fiber with multimode pumping through an adder into a cladding with a semiconductor laser diode.

EFFECT: generation of a difference frequency based on high-frequency pulsations of non-stationary solitons in a fiber laser with passive mode locking based on nonlinear rotation of the polarization plane.
