FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to laser engineering and relates to a method of determining relaxation time of a film-type antireflection absorber using a femtosecond fibre laser in soliton generation mode. Laser includes a laser pumping diode and a fibre ring resonator with total negative dispersion of group velocities of the resonator. Laser operates in a mode of generating solitons and has a general dispersion of group velocities of the resonator at which the minimum possible pulse duration will be less than the typical relaxation time of the analysed antireflective absorber. When implementing the method, an asymptote is determined when approximating data on the dependence of pulse duration on their energy when the output power of the pumping laser diode changes. Value of the asymptote of the exponential function is equivalent to the relaxation time of the film-type antireflective absorber.

EFFECT: technical result consists in simplification of stand design for measurements.
