FIELD: glass fibre materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing sized glass fibres and composite materials based on them intended as structural polymer materials for production of special-purpose products in additive technologies. The method is based on sizing glass fibres by applying a sizing composition from a solution, followed by drying in an oven under vacuum at 89-90 °C. The sizing composition is applied from a solution with a mass concentration of 0.78% in organic solvents: propanone and propanol-2. Then it is kept in an ultrasonic bath at 20 °C and ultrasonic power of 35 kHz for 25 min. After this, a stepwise increase in temperature is carried out with simultaneous distillation of solvents and exposure to ultrasound with an operating power of 35 kHz according to the following mode: 35 °C - 25 min; 50 °C - 20 min; 70 °C - 20 min; 85 °C - 20 min. The resulting sized fibre contains: glass fibre - 96.0 wt.%, 4,4'-sulphonyldiphenol (SDP) - 0.25÷3.75 wt.%, 4,4'-sulphonyldiamine (SDA) - 3.75÷0.25 wt.%.
EFFECT: ability to improve melt flow rate and impact strength of the created composite material due to introduction of a sizing composition - 4,4'-sulphonyldiamine and 4,4'- sulphonyldiphenol, which increases wettability of the filler and increases intermolecular interactions between the glass fibre and the polyetherimide matrix.
