FIELD: medicine; obstetrics; gynecology; ultrasonic diagnostics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to assess the state of uterine scar after cesarean section in term of full-term pregnancy. An ultrasonic elastographic transabdominal examination is carried out using a convex transducer at 39–40 weeks of gestation. A scar zone in the lower segment in the longitudinal scanning plane is divided into 6 zones; a tissue stiffness index (PQ) is determined in each zone and its average value is calculated. If PQ is less than 8 kPa, the uterine scar is considered to be adequate, and if PQ is more than 8 kPa, the uterine scar is considered to be defective.
EFFECT: method enables assessing the state of the uterine scar after cesarean section and optimize the delivery tactics with solving the issue of the need for excision of tissues of the defective cicatrix by a combination of techniques of the claimed invention.
