FIELD: control and measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to instrumentation and can be used to assess mechanical stresses in elements of metal structures of machines and objects. Disclosed is a method of determining mechanical stresses of metal structures, in which a point of measuring mechanical stresses is determined. After determining the location, it is cleaned of impurities and a calibrated measuring sensor is installed through a heat-insulating layer. Calibrated measuring sensor is a calibrated metal plate for which the dependence of the temperature change on the change in mechanical stresses is pre-determined. Temperature of the calibrated measuring sensor for the unloaded metal structure is then recorded, after which a single static loading is carried out and the temperature change on the sensor is recorded. Previously obtained relationships are used to calculate the value of mechanical stress of the measurement point based on the recorded temperature change.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of assessing existing mechanical stresses, as well as reducing the labour intensity of control with the possibility of simultaneous measurements in a large number of test locations.
