FIELD: veterinary science; experimental medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to assess the effectiveness of photodynamic therapy of purulent abscesses of various aetiology. Purulent abscess is simulated by forming a cavity. Photodynamic exposure is carried out daily for 15–30 minutes for 10 days, starting from 5th day after formation of a purulent abscess. Day before the formation of a purulent abscess and after the formation of a purulent abscess, the total number of leukocytes, the total number of thrombocytes, concentration of creatinine and concentration of hemoglobin, average value of norm of total number of leukocytes, total number of thrombocytes, content of creatinine and hemoglobin. Based on the obtained values, coefficients K1 and K2 are determined by given formulas. If the values of the coefficients K1 and K2 are more than one, a conclusion is made on the absence of the effectiveness of the photodynamic effect, if the coefficients K1 and K2 are less than or equal to one, a conclusion is made on the presence of the effectiveness of the photodynamic effect.
EFFECT: method enables to determine criteria for assessing the effectiveness of antimicrobial photodynamic therapy, providing reduction of the length of exposure to radiation on the body due to evaluation of the aggregate of the most significant indicators.
