FIELD: foundry.
SUBSTANCE: solution for wetting the surface of wax models for investment casting contains a solvent containing pine rosin and polyvinyl butyral. Solvent used is ethyl alcohol, or isopropyl alcohol, or acetone. Components are taken in the following ratio, wt.%: pine rosin—1–5, polyvinyl butyral—0.1–1.0, ethyl alcohol or isopropyl alcohol or acetone—the rest. Treatment of wax models with said solution allows cleaning their surfaces from fat-like substances of model mass and release agents used for lubricating molds, and simultaneously, in one process operation, to apply on the surface of the model a microscopic layer which increases wetting of the surface of the model with the facing suspension, which is formed after the solution has dried.
EFFECT: improved wetting of wax models surface.
