FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, namely, to vehicles equipped with drum-type braking system. Brake shoe has linings on flat side surfaces of which there are wear indicators in the form of a recess. Flat side surfaces of the lining are made glossy, and surfaces of wear indicators are made dull. One of the rivets is made with an insulated current-conducting bracket with electric contacts, which is connected to the on-board network of the vehicle through a normally closed relay and a critical wear indicator lamp. During operation of vehicle with drum-type braking mechanism control of residual life of brake shoe linings is carried out visually by value of side surfaces. When the critical wear level of the linings is reached, the insulated current-conducting bracket installed in one of the rivets and connected to the on-board network of the vehicle through electric contacts is erased. After that, the electric network is broken and the normally closed relay switches on the critical wear indicator lamp installed on the vehicle dashboard.
EFFECT: reduced labour input during control inspection of braking system condition and increased safety of vehicle operation.
