SUBSTANCE: invention relates to image processing and specifically to methods of combining digital images. Method of combining simultaneously obtained images of the colour visible and near infrared ranges, obtained by different television cameras, wherein the video signals of the cameras are filtered by Gauss filters, determining the cross-correlation of images in the space of objects of sub-range in the red visible range with the closest sub-range of the near infrared range from the distinguishable shape of the common observed object, their images are combined to achieve maximum correlation, then determining the cross-correlation of the superimposed near infrared sub-range with the image obtained in the following sub-range two pixels summation mode by the common observed object with a distinguishable shape, and combining them to achieve maximum correlation.

EFFECT: wider range of devices for the same purpose when superimposing images of objects formed by television cameras – colour in the visible and monochrome in the near infrared ranges.
