SUBSTANCE: invention relates to experimental studies on animals, surgical dentistry and maxillofacial surgery. Anesthetized animal is placed on an operating table. Surgical area of interest is approached by using an external surgical approach. First, a linear incision of skin and soft tissues is created along the base of the lower jaw from the chin protrusion to the angle of the jaw. Incision is made to the bone. Thereafter, the periosteum is detached in the area of interest. Further, the detached section is bent, exposing the jaw bone. Then, experimental surgical dental manipulations are performed on the exposed area. Wound is closed with a multi-row suture with the help of a resorbable suture material. Further, the animal is observed in the postoperative period with the implementation of biological processes in the field of the experimental surgical dental manipulations.
EFFECT: method enables safe, low-traumatisation experimental surgical dental manipulations, provides fast postoperative recovery, enables observing the animal in the long term.
