SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a filter of a smoking article, comprising degradable filter component and to a smoking article comprising such a filter. Filter for a smoking article comprises a filter component formed from a solution of acetyl cellulose and degradable polymer in acetone, the degradable polymer being soluble in acetone and degradable in the presence of water, the degradable polymer being a copolymer of lactic and glycolic acids.

EFFECT: technical result of the invention is to provide a filter for a smoking article that contains a degradable filter component that can be easily degraded or decomposed to accelerate disintegration and decomposition of the filter as a whole after the filter is discarded and which can be easily manufactured using existing production equipment and technologies without significantly affecting productivity.
