FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology, in particular to a method for determining hypoxia resistance of laboratory animals, which are rats, by the level of cytokine production by blood cells. Said method involves sampling blood from a tail vein in animals, incubating samples for 24 hours at 37 °C in CO2-incubator and determining the content of IL-6, IL-10 and TNFα by enzyme immunoassay with subsequent ranking of resistance of animals to hypoxia in two categories: if the content of IL-10 is higher than 50 pg/ml, IL-6 is higher than 10 pg/ml, TNFα is higher than 10 pg/ml, animals are considered to be low-resistant to hypoxia, if the content of IL-10 is below 15 pg/ml, IL-6 is below 9 pg/ml, TNFα is below 7 pg/ml, the animals are considered to be highly resistant to hypoxia.
EFFECT: present invention provides a method for assessing individual initial resistance to hypoxia by assessing cytokine production by blood cells, which does not imply a direct effect of oxygen deficiency on the animal's body.
