FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology, in particular to a method for determining low resistance to hypoxia of laboratory animals, which are rats, based on the level of spontaneous and stimulated production of IL-1β by blood cells. Said method involves blood sampling from the tail vein and incubation of the first blood sample for 24 hours at 5% CO2 and 37 °C, adding lipopolysaccharide, concanavalin A and phytohemagglutinin to the second sample and incubating the second sample for 24 hours at 5% CO2 and 37 °C with subsequent determination of IL-1 content in the culture fluidβ by enzyme immunoassay, according to the results of which the animals are classified as low-resistant to hypoxia with an increase in the level of IL-1β production in the second sample more than twice as compared to the first one.
EFFECT: present invention provides high accuracy of determining low body resistance to hypoxia without direct effect of oxygen deficiency on animal body.
