FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to dentistry, particularly to orthodontics, and is intended for correction of dental arches. A method for making an aligner with an adaptive bite block in a frontal portion of the upper jaw, in which at the first stage, anamnesis is taken, the patient’s oral cavity is examined for diagnosis and planning of further treatment. At the second stage, a photo protocol is carried out, then an X-ray examination is carried out to obtain dental impressions. At the third stage, the dental arch impressions obtained at the second stage are loaded into the CAD program for modelling SET UP models. At the fourth stage, a virtual treatment plan is created by creating a digital SET UP model of the patient based on the dental arch impressions loaded at the third stage. At the fifth stage, the planned teeth movement and occlusion correction are performed on the digital SET UP model, further, an adaptive bite block with varying height and width of steps is placed in the frontal portion of the upper jaw on the palatal side. Height and size of steps are selected depending on class of closure and position of temporomandibular joint. At the sixth stage, by thermoforming a medical biopolymer on stereolithographic models of dentures with movements planned at the fifth stage, an aligner is made, with an adaptive bite block platform in the frontal portion of the upper jaw and a recess formed by a stepped platform installed on stereolithographic models. At the seventh stage, using a syringe-tube with a photopolymer material, a recess in the aligner is filled, at the eighth stage, the aligner is fixed in the oral cavity and the photopolymer material applied at the seventh stage is polymerised with an ultraviolet lamp.
EFFECT: development of a method for making an aligner with an adaptive bite block in the frontal portion of the upper jaw, which would provide accurate movement of teeth and occlusion correction in accordance with specified on digital SET UP model of treatment based on data obtained on CBCT.
