FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to orthopaedic, surgical dentistry, orthodontics. Method for determining the parameters of the lower jaw in three-dimensional space is obtaining X-ray images of the patient's head, after which diagnostic points are applied on the image, according to their anatomical location, and the obtained data are decoded using software, then individual values of patient’s parameters are compared with normal values, deviations are detected, and taking into account parameters that have deviations from the norm, diagnose and make a treatment plan. At the end of the therapeutic course, repeated X-ray examinations are performed; the parameters are studied again and compared to the initial values; the dynamics of the change in the parameters is assessed, and based on this, a prediction of the length of treatment is made, or in case of normalization of the change in the parameters, a conclusion is made on the results of the treatment. Measurements are made on the CBCT of the patient's head; the norm for the average length of the lower jaw body is calculated by the formula; the dimensions of the lower jaw on the right and on the left are compared with the average length of the lower jaw body and with each other. Length of the body and branches of the lower jaw is determined, as well as the symmetry of the bone structures of the given area.
EFFECT: reducing the labour intensity of the method of diagnosing and treating dentoalveolar anomalies, providing the possibility of calculating the length of the branch and body of the lower jaw, evaluating the symmetry of the branches and the body of the lower jaw, reduced probability of error in determining anatomical landmarks, enabling cephalometric measurements in three-dimensional space.
