FIELD: radiation equipment.

SUBSTANCE: method for real-time monitoring of current density distribution in a cross section of a beam of charged particles in real time during radiation therapy operations comprises stages, on which a screen with thickness equal to the range of particles with maximum energy is installed on the path of the beam of charged particles. A circular collimator hole is made in the screen to direct the beam to the irradiated object. Around the collimator there are charged particle detectors arranged on the circle line coaxial with the collimator at the vertices of an equilateral polygon inscribed in it. Signals of the detectors are recorded at each step of movement of the rods and the distribution of current density in the cross section of the beam is determined from the readings of the detectors.

EFFECT: on-line monitoring of current density distribution in the cross section of the beam of charged particles in real time during radiation therapy operations.
