SUBSTANCE: invention relates to overhead transmission line grounding device and method of its installation on overhead transmission line wire. Overhead transmission line grounding device contains a grounding conductor connected by its one end with a bent spacing bracket, to the second end of which a clamp is connected, which provides attachment of the grounding device on the overhead transmission line wire, to the second end of the grounding conductor a clamp is attached, which is intended for fixation on the support or on the grounding rod. Method of mounting a grounding device on an overhead transmission line wire includes installing a spring clamp, which provides for attachment of the grounding device on the overhead transmission line wire, in a recess made on a support mounted on the UAV, fixation the clamp intended for fixation on the support or the grounding rod, on the support or the grounding rod, approach of the UAV to the overhead transmission line wire, then, the spring clamp is connected to the overhead transmission line from the bottom of the UAV. Further, the UAV is sent down and sideways from the overhead transmission line wire.

EFFECT: possibility of grounding device installation using UAV with docking with wire from below, which increases reliability and safety of mounting with increased stability of UAV positioning relative to wire.
