SUBSTANCE: invention relates to lidar systems. Method of controlling scanning in a lidar system is carried out by a controller and involves controlling a scanning mirror for scanning space with a plurality of light beams exiting the lidar system and formed by the light source of the system, rotating the scanning mirror at a first speed in a first direction of rotation and at a second speed greater than the first speed in a second direction of rotation, detection by the array of sensors of the lidar system of light reflected from the scanning mirror to the array of sensors, formation of a cloud of distance data points during rotation of the scanning mirror in the first direction and forming an image of the scanning area around the lidar system during rotation of the scanning mirror in the second direction.
EFFECT: high density of data obtained using a lidar system.
