SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering and is intended for sharing with devices for storing and transmitting discrete information. Result is achieved due to the proposed device for generating and recovering a modified Hamming code for 16-bit binary numbers, comprising a check bit computer, device for transmitting or storing data, an error address computer, an error address decoder, a correction circuit, an error signal generator.
EFFECT: simpler and faster operation.
