HIGH-SPEED CARRY ADDING DEVICE Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: electronics; digital computers. SUBSTANCE: device has carry set-up signal shaping adders and carry propagation signal shaping adders whose components perform extended functions of enhancing its capacity without increasing number of stages in critical carry-signal propagation channel that may reduce device speed and of increasing its speed by replacing intricate carry circuit with several simple ones incorporating smaller number of stages. To this end new components are introduced and new connections are used. Such novelties make it possible to use carry signals from one, two, three, and four groups of adding bits, to execute completing functions of shaping carry signals by adders, and to introduce additional (third) step of carry addition to more significant bits.
