SUBSTANCE: in one embodiment, the adjustable intraocular lens can comprise an optical section and a peripheral section. Peripheral section may contain a composite material containing an energy-absorbing component and a plurality of expandable components. Optical section can be configured to change the base optical power under the action of external energy directed to the composite material.
EFFECT: use of this group of inventions enables post-implantation adjustment of the IOL without the need for additional surgical intervention.
