FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: device for bottom blowdown of liquid metal with gas in a ladle includes seat unit (1), conical tuyere (2) with cooler (7) of emergency outflow metal and a gas supply tube. Unit (1) is made in the form of a truncated hollow cone with conicity, which is unidirectional with that of the tuyere. Along side surface (5) of unit (1), in its upper part, there are longitudinal signal ribs (3). Ratio of diameters of working surfaces of seat unit and tuyere is 1.0–2.5. Ratio of diameter of circle circumscribing ribs (3) at the level of their working surfaces, and diameter of working surface of tuyere is 1.2–3.0. Working surface (4) of tuyere (2), working surface (5) of unit (1) and working surface (6) of ribs (3) form a single working surface, wherein on the surface of the lining of the bottom of the ladle, said working surfaces are simultaneously and make a single geometrical figure, area and overall dimensions of which exceed similar parameters of the working surface of the tuyere, which excludes its complete overlapping with residues of solidified slag.
EFFECT: accurate visual detection of tuyere location on ladle bottom lining.
