FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to cardiology, cardio-oncology, oncology and oncohaematology, and can be used to determine the probability of developing cardiovascular toxicity in cancer patients with underlying six-month anticancer therapy according to the R-CHOP regimen. Speckle-tracking echocardiographic examination is performed at rest, in a lying position, through the left parasternal/apical approaches and end-systolic volume, end-systolic size and global longitudinal systolic deformation of the left ventricle are determined. These values are used to calculate a coefficient P reflecting the risk of developing cardiotoxicity. If P>27.4322%, a high risk of developing cardiotoxicity is predicted, while P<27.4322% a low risk of developing cardiotoxicity is predicted.
EFFECT: method enables the well-timed revision of the main therapeutic approach to the patient, prescribing a cardioprotective therapy and avoiding fatal cardiovascular complications by calculating a coefficient P reflecting the risk of developing cardiotoxicity.
