SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to X-ray diagnostics, oncosurgery. At the first stage before the operation in the arterial phase using multiplanar reconstructions by means of computed tomography with the ventral arrangement of the iliac colonic artery relative to the superior mesenteric vein, the expected length of the artery stump is measured as the distance from the orifice of the artery to the medial contour of the superior mesenteric vein, in case of dorsal arrangement – as distance from artery mouth to lateral contour of superior mesenteric vein. At the second stage after the surgical intervention, the actual length of the stump is measured from the orifice of the artery to the level of the metal staples installed during the operation. If the actual length is less than the expected one, a high-quality total mesocolonectomy with high ligation of the feeding vessels is performed.

EFFECT: method is effective, simple and reproducible in computed tomography within the framework of the regular examination of the patient and enables in vivo assessment of the quality of the surgical intervention, particularly the extent of the performed lymphodissection, which correlates with the main prognostic factors.
