METHOD FOR NON-INVASIVE DIAGNOSIS OF MODERATELY SEVERE AND SEVERE ANAEMIA IN FETUS Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B8/00

Abstract RU 2826239 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to obstetrics and gynaecology, prenatal diagnosis and treatment of fetus. Fetal cerebral vessels Doppler sonography is performed to determine the peak systolic blood flow velocity in the middle cerebral artery (MCA PSV) of the fetus and the fetal echocardiography to determine the cardio-thoracic index (CTI), expressed as a percentage. Then, if the MCA PSV value exceeds the threshold value for the corresponding gestational age, selected from table 1 contained in the description, and if the CTI value lies in the interval from the threshold value for the corresponding gestational age, selected from table 2 contained in the description, to the value less than the threshold value by 2%, Doppler sonography of the fetal heart is performed. If observing tricuspid regurgitation (TR) during fetal heart Doppler ultrasound, moderately severe and severe fetal anaemia is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method enables improving perinatal outcomes in developing fetal anaemic syndrome by timely intrauterine transfusion due to detection of "latent" forms of moderately severe and severe anaemia.
