FIELD: various technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing adsorbents based on porous natural minerals (zeolite-containing rocks) and can be used to clean water and air media, including process facilities, from contaminants with subsequent regeneration of spent sorbent. Method of producing the adsorbent involves grinding zeolite-containing rock to particles with size of 1.2-1.5 mm, which are treated with 1-4 wt.% aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid, washed with water to a neutral medium and dried. Dried particles are mixed first with polyvinyl acetate in an amount sufficient to obtain a protective film on the particles, then clay is added with polyvinyl acetate in a total amount of 8-10 wt.%, heated to 70-80 °C and granulated, the obtained granules are evacuated at a residual pressure of 20-30 kPa and subjected to thermal treatment at temperature of 900-1000 °C.
EFFECT: invention provides a simpler technology of producing an adsorbent based on zeolite-containing rocks and increases sorption capacity of the adsorbent for organochlorine compounds compared to the prototype.
