FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to paediatrics and neonatology. Following is determined: sex, head circumference at birth, positive change of head circumference parameter in the first month of life and presence of anaemia of various severity in past medical history. Probability of the risk of psychomotor development delay (p) is calculated by the declared formulas. If p is more than 0.6, a high risk of developmental delay is predicted. If the p value is from 0.6 to 0.3, the average degree of risk is determined. If the p value is less than 0.3, a low risk of psychomotor development is predicted.

EFFECT: method provides simplification and higher accuracy of prediction of risk of psychomotor development in children born with extremely low body weight by age of three years old.
