FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to neurosurgery and oncology. At the stage of preoperative planning, computed tomography (CT) of the skull is performed. Then, guided by the preoperative CT of the skull, 2 screws are screwed into the intact bone of the calvarium at a distance of at least 4 cm from each other and at distance of 1.5 cm from the detected tumour border. CT scan of the skull is performed at pitch of 0.5 mm. CT data are used to create a three-dimensional model of the skull with a tumour. Tumour resection area is virtually planned so that the installed screws remain outside the resection area. Implant is shaped to the skull with two ring-shaped projections along the upper edge at the points of the installed screws. At the stage of surgical intervention after tumour resection, the implant is initially fixed in points of screws installed at the preoperative stage, and then along the perimeter.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to perform one-step closure of skull defects during removal of bone tumours with extracranial growth and with extension to upper parts of facial skeleton or to base of skull, higher accuracy of implant placement, preserving congruence and shape of the skull, reducing the length of the operation, improving the fixation of the implants and improving the quality of life of the patients.
