FIELD: analytical chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method for the qualitative and quantitative determination of fluoride ions in a solution, wherein an indicator solution is added to an analysed solution containing fluoride ions and fluorescence gain is recorded at a certain wavelength, wherein the indicator used is pyridoxal 5'-phosphate-2-benzothiazolylhydrazone, dissolved in dimethylsulfoxide, fluorescence enhancement is estimated at wavelength 531 nm, and excitation occurs at wavelength 420 nm.

EFFECT: invention increases sensitivity and selectivity of the method for qualitative and quantitative determination of fluoride ions in a solution with a detection limit of less than 1,88 mcmol/l.
