FIELD: measurement technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of measuring pH in the range from 2 to 9 using silver nanowires. A method of measuring pH in the range from 2 to 9 in an aqueous sample solution includes at least the following stages: i) mixing the said sample solution with a suspension of silver nanowires with a length of 5.5 ± 2.2 μm and a diameter of 46 ± 8 nm, hydrogen peroxide and chromogenic a substrate selected from the group: tetramethylbenzidine, o-phenylenediamine, diaminobenzidine; ii) incubating the resulting mixture to develop chromogenic color; iii) measuring the absorbance of the mixture to determine the pH from the calibration curve.

EFFECT: above invention makes it possible to more accurately, simply and more affordably measure pH over a wide range using nanomaterials.
