FIELD: catalysis.

SUBSTANCE: method for the catalytic decomposition of hydrogen peroxide in a sample. The method includes: i) mixing a solution of the mentioned sample with a suspension of silver nanowires, ii) adding to the resulting mixture a solution of a reagent selected from the group: tetramethylbenzidine, o-phenylenediamine, diaminobenzidine.

EFFECT: possibility of visual monitoring of the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide due to the concomitant chromogenic reaction of the catalytic oxidation of horseradish peroxidase substrates, as well as the use of catalytic nanomaterials that allow them to be synthesized on a large scale and are stable when stored at room temperature in containers not protected from light.
