SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to medical diagnostics, and can be used for prediction of risk of ischemic stroke in women of Central Russia. A sample of peripheral venous blood is taken. DNA extraction is followed by analysis of polymorphic variant rs8140505 (A>G) of the GGT5 gene. If observing the genotype rs8140505-G/G, an increased risk of ischemic stroke is predicted.
EFFECT: method provides obtaining new criteria for assessing the risk of developing ischemic stroke in women of Central Russia based on data about genetic polymorphism rs8140505 (A>G) of the GGT5 gene.
