FIELD: tobacco.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the tobacco industry, namely to an aerosol-generating device, an aerosol-generating system, and a method of operating the aerosol-generating device. Aerosol-generating device comprises or is configured to be connected to at least one heating element configured to heat at least a portion of the aerosol-generating substrate, and suitable for use with an aerosol generating device for generating an aerosol. Aerosol-generating device comprises a heating control circuit configured to receive at least one operating value associated with the operation of at least one heating element. Aerosol-generating device comprises a heating control circuit configured to associate said at least one working quantity with a plurality of classes, each of which corresponds to a given characteristic of at least one working quantity. Aerosol generating device comprises a heating control circuit configured to calculate an estimate for each class. Aerosol generating device comprises a heating control circuit configured to determine a state indicator indicating the heating state of at least one heating element based on a plurality of classes and the calculated estimates for the classes.
EFFECT: improved control over heating of the aerosol-generating device.
