SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to embodiments of an aerosol-generating article, an aerosol-generating system, and a method of making an aerosol-generating article. Aerosol-generating article (200) comprises: storage portion (210) having an outlet; aerosol-forming substrate (211), wherein aerosol-forming substrate (211) is contained within storage portion (210); and evaporated barrier (225) configured to seal the outlet. Evaporative barrier (225) contains one or more polymers. Evaporated barrier (225) has a polymer content greater than or equal to 1 wt.%. Evaporative barrier (225) is configured to evaporate during the first heating cycle of aerosol-generating article (200) during the first use of aerosol-generating article (200) in the aerosol-generating system. Evaporated barrier comprises one or more metal salts, wherein said one or more metal salts are selected from a group consisting of metal alginates, metal benzoates, metal cinnamates, metal cycloheptane carboxylates, metal levulinates, metal propanoates, metal stearates and metal undecanoates, and preferably, the evaporated barrier contains one or more metal stearates.
