SPINAL CORD REPAIR NEUROIMPLANT Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61F2/90 A61K47/58 A61P25/00

Abstract RU 2829632 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine, namely to neurosurgery, and can be used as a neuroimplant for spinal cord recovery. Neuroimplant for regeneration of spinal nerve tissue is made in the form of a biodegradable hybrid layered structure based on a water-soluble polymer, which is polyvinyl alcohol, consisting of a first layer – a lattice structure made to replace a connective tissue layer of the spinal cord and adhesion and proliferation of cells, due to the created pores with size of 70-130 mcm, and second layer – electrospinned substrate with submicron directed fibres, layers are connected to each other by means of cohesion. Method of producing a neuroimplant involves making a layered structure by producing a first layer – a lattice structure, obtained by printing on an FDM printer, and producing a second layer – an electrospinned substrate with submicron directed fibres. Both layers are joined to each other by means of cohesion, after which the obtained laminar structure is treated in glutaraldehyde cross-linking solution at pH = 2-3 for 3 hours, washed in a buffer solution at pH = 7.5 and sterilized.

EFFECT: use of inventions enables to achieve an increase in the regenerative potential and the possibility of accelerating the recovery of the spinal cord in acute injury by creating a hygroscopic two-layer structure, the structure of which contributes to fixation of the implant and directed regeneration of nerve tissue, by creating a combination of a directed submicron fibrous structure for attachment and proliferation of spinal cord cells and a mesh structure providing a fixed position of the fibrous part, as well as the fact that this polymer lattice acts as a scaffold for the dura mater of the spinal cord.
