MINIATURE OPTICAL CABLE FOR OPERATION IN CONDITIONS OF NON-STATIONARY LAYING Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC G02B6/44

Abstract RU 2830395 C1

FIELD: cable equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to designs of optical miniature cables intended for stationary and non-stationary laying in the mode of repeated laying-deinstallation. Disclosed miniature optical cable for operation in conditions of non-stationary laying contains from 1 to 3 optical fibers, reinforcing threads and common protective shell from polymer material, applied with tight squeezing, are freely placed in tube from polymer extrusion material. Said tube is filled with hydrophobic gel, which does not deteriorate properties of optical fiber and tube material, and the thickness of the wall of the tube in which the optical fiber is placed must be not more than 0.3 mm and not less than 0.2 mm.

EFFECT: providing the required optical characteristics in a wide temperature range and mechanical characteristics (resistance to multiple small radius bends and multiple rewinds, including at negative temperature below minus 40 °C, multiple axial twisting, stretching and crushing loads) with minimum diameter and manufacturability of design.
