FIELD: medicine; virology.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method for determining the source of HIV infection during molecular-epidemiological investigations. Method involves nested two-step PCR with a set of primers for step 1 hivoutf 5'-gcgactggtgagtacgcc-3', 5'-tcttctggggcttgttcc-3' and for stage 2 hivinf 5'-ccctcaaatcactctttggc-3' and hivinr 5'-ccacacaatcatcacctgcc-3' to obtain a long fragment of the HIV genome, including the gag and pol genes, sequencing and obtaining a sequence of the analyzed fragments, phylogenetic analysis with inclusion of sequences from the database of patients with virologic ineffectiveness of ART in NWFD with subsequent identification of a possible source of infection.
EFFECT: invention increases resolution of phylogenetic analysis when determining a possible source of HIV infection.
