FIELD: petrochemical industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing bitumen binder for roofing materials by oxidation of oil refining residues. Method involves vacuum distillation of fuel oil to obtain a darkened fraction and vacuum gas oil, mixing a portion thereof in a certain weight ratio, followed by oxidation in the column with atmospheric oxygen. Vacuum distillation of fuel oil is carried out at residual pressure in the top of column of 1.30–1.99 kPa to obtain a darkened fraction boiling in range of 486–620 °C with a relative viscosity at 80 °C of 30–100 s, and a vacuum gas oil boiling out in range of 471–590 °C with a relative viscosity at 80 °C of 4.1–5.0 s. They are mixed in weight ratio of darkened fraction: vacuum gas oil (65–75):(25–35), and oxidation of the mixture is carried out for 3.0–3.8 hours.
EFFECT: increased depth of fuel oil processing by increase of vacuum distillates end boiling point, production of binder for roofing materials from weighted vacuum distillates, reduced time of their oxidation.
